'Spirit' aims to support players, coaches, volunteers and parents and its primary purpose is to educate those within the game about their rights and responsibilities on and off the field.
The programme will deliver a series of educational workshops and support for clubs through designated Spirit of Rugby officers, focusing on Safeguarding, Anti-Doping, Disability and Health and Well Being.
The four provincial Spirit of Rugby officers are Luke Murphy (Connacht), Stephen Gore (Leinster), Emily O'Leary (Munster) and Kerry Spence (Ulster).
As part of the launch of the Spirit of Rugby programme Ireland internationals gave their support to a 'silent sidelines' initiative by reminding those on the touch lines of children's matches to remember that kids play for fun and to 'let them play'.
