The Ireland Club team has been confirmed for this week's trip to Edinburgh to face their Scottish counterparts in the 2019 Club International Series.

World Class Line up for IRFU Certified Conditioning Course which includes leading experts Professor Ian Jeffreys and Dr Nick Winkelman in addition to contributions from the IRFU's National and Provincial Strength & Conditioning staff.
The course also serves as a strong networking opportunity to help you develop relationships with like-minded coaches that you can engage with throughout your career.
The course will not make you 'instantly qualified' in the area of strength and conditioning, it is an introductory course for those wishing to increase their knowledge base in the area of strength and conditioning and develop their coaching skills.
In 2018, the course will be hosted at the Institute of Technology, Carlow from 23 July 2018 to 27 July 2018.
Places on the course are limited so please book early.

The course is intended to help you gain the confidence and com- petence to physically prepare the players in your charge in a safe and enjoyable manner for the game of rugby.
The course will not make you 'instantly qualified' in the area of strength and condi- tioning - it is an introductory course for those wishing to increase their knowledge base in the area of strength and conditioning and develop their coaching skills.
The course also serves as a strong networking opportunity to help you develop a relationships with like-minded coaches that you can engage with throughout your career.
While there are theory based elements of the course, the course is primarily a practical, hands-on course where you will see and practice the many drills and exercises that are appropriate for conditioning rugby players at all levels.
You will be supplied with an electronic copies of the key content delivered on the course. The course will cover:
- Principles of Training
- Game Demands
- Movement Preparation (Warm-Up)
- Strength & Power Development
- Rugby Specific Conditioning
- Linear Speed Development (Acceleration & Maximal Velocity)
- Multidirectional Speed Development (Agility)
- Periodization (Programming & Planning)
- Art & Science of Coaching
In order to complete the course, applicants will be required to:
- Attend and participate in all course modules
- Successfully complete multiple choice questionnaire

You are encouraged to dress in appropriate sports kit which will allow you to be active during the daily practicals. Please note that the practical sessions will take place both indoors and outdoors so please bring a change of kit with you on all days in the event of bad weather.
Practical ses- sions will also take place on a variety of surfaces: artificial turf, grass and sports halls so partici- pants should have appropriate footwear for each surface. Changing and showering facilities will be available at the course venue.
